CHILD SAFETY SEAT - TETHER ATTACHMENT INSTRUCTIONS

FORD 1985 ESCORT

LINCOLN-MERCURY 1985 LYNX

2-door and 4-door hatchback vehicles built after 10/84 are provided with drill pilot holes rather than weld nuts for properly locating child safety seat
tether attachment. The installation procedures shown in the Owners Guide must be supplemented for these vehicles.

Use the following procedure and illustrations for installation of the child safety seat tether attachment on vehicles having drill pilot rather than weld nuts.

1.

Remove the rear luggage compartment cover (carpet) by prying loose the eight (8) push-pins located on the top edge and the two (2) screws - one
at each end.
