5.4L OR 6.8L ENGINE ONLY

2000-2003 E-350, E-450, EXCURSION, SUPER DUTY F SERIES
ISSUE
Some F250-F550 Super Duty and Excursion vehicles equipped with a 5.4L or 6.8L engine, and some E350/450 vehicles equipped with a 6.8L engine
may exhibit a rough idle and/or hesitation when accelerating. This may occur intermittently within the first 2-3 minutes after start when engine is not
warmed up (ie., conditions other than hot restart). The condition is more likely to occur at ambient temperatures of approximately 60° F (160 C) and
higher, and may be aggravated by an unmetered air leak or exhaust leak.
ACTION
This article must be followed as specified to effectively correct symptoms. Read the article completely before starting service. Refer to the following
Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
F250-F550 Super Duty and Excursion
Service any unmetered air leak, exhaust leak, wiring or other related concern. Replace both front H025 sensors with the part number listed in this article.
E350/E450
Refer to the E-Series Only PCM Calibration Chart. Do not perform this TSB if the vehicle's calibration is not listed in the chart. Service any unmetered
air leak, exhaust leak wiring or other related concern. Replace both front H025 sensors with the part number listed in this article.

Refer to the PCM Calibration Chart FOR E-SERIES ONLY to verity that vehicle is addressed by this TSB. Do not perform this TSB on an
E-Series vehicle if the calibration is not listed in the E-Series Only PCM Calibration Chart.
2.
Perform thorough diagnostics in accordance with the applicable PC/ED Workshop Manual, and service any issues.
3.
Replace both front H025 sensors, with Part Number 354Z-9F472-BA.
