1. Verify the customer concern.

2. Visually inspect the for obvious signs of electrical damage:
3. If the concern remains after the inspection connect the scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel and select
the vehicle to be tested from the scan tool menu. If the scan tool does not communicate with the vehicle:

check that the program card is properly installed.

check the connections to the vehicle.

check the ignition switch position.
If the scan tool still does not communicate with the vehicle, go to Pinpoint Test M. See: Motorhome/Pinpoint Tests/Test M: The Powertrain
Control Module (PCM) Does Not Respond to the Scan Tool
4. Go to Pinpoint Test PD. See: Motorhome/Pinpoint Tests/Test PD: Data Link Diagnostics Network Test
Test L: The Anti-Lock Brake Control Module (ABS) Does Not Respond to the Scaln Tool
Pinpoint Test L: THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE CONTROL MODULE (ABS) DOES NOT RESPOND TO THE SCALN TOOL
