1985 Escort/Lynx (3-and 5-door) vehicles built before 7/15/85 with a creaking/rattling or rubbing noise from the luggage cover assembly can be
corrected by replacing the present foam tape with thicker foam tape. The tape strips are located on the bottom and both sides of the luggage compartment
cover.

Raise the liftgate to expose the two (2) foam tape strips on the underside of the luggage cover.
