Expedition 4WD V8-4.6L SOHC VIN 6 (1997)
6. Insert the differential pinion shaft.
7. Install new differential pinion shaft lock bolt.
NOTE: If a new pinion shaft lock bolt is unavailable, coat the threads with Threadlock and Sealer EOAZ-19554-AA or equivalent meeting Ford
specifications WSK-M2G315-A5 and ESE-M4G204-A2 prior to installation.
8. Install the ring gear.
(1) Position and then start three (C) ring gear bolts to align the holes in the (A) ring gear and the (B) differential case.
(2) Use an appropriate press to install the ring gear.
9. Install the remaining ring gear bolts.
10. Install the differential case into the front drive axle housing.
