Brake Hose/Line: Description and Operation
Steel brake tubing is used to connect the brake master cylinder to the anti-lock hydraulic control unit, the anti-lock hydraulic control unit to the front RH
and LH flexible brake hoses and the rear axle junction block and to the RH caliper flexible brake hose. Double flared brake tubing provides leakproof
connections.
When replacing hydraulic brake tubing, hoses, or connectors, tighten all connections securely. After replacement, bleed the brake system at the rear disc
brake calipers and the front disc brake calipers, and at the brake master cylinder.
The wet appearance of the outer cover of rubber brake hoses is called "sweating." This is a normal condition for neoprene rayon braid hose and is not a
sign of leakage or cause for replacement of the hose.
