Heater Core: Service and Repair
Back Flushing-Heater Core
1. Release pressure in the cooling system by slowly turning the radiator cap counterclockwise to the first step of the radiator filler neck.

When pressure has been released, remove the radiator cap.
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE COOLING SYSTEM WHILE IT IS HOT OR THE ENGINE IS RUNNING.
2. Partially drain the cooling system.
3. Use cooling system Flush-All, Flush Kit Hardware Package and Drain Kit to back flush the heater core. Use Ford Premium Cooling System Flush
F1AZ-19A503-A or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESR-M14P7A.
4. Fill the cooling system.
