Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Remove the battery and tray.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control
Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may have to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
2. Disconnect the Vapor Management Valve (VMV) return tubes.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the VMV.

Disconnect the evaporative emissions return tubes from the VMV.
3. Disconnect the VMV and bracket. Remove the VMV bracket bolt.
4. Remove the VMV.

Disconnect the vacuum line from the fuel VMV.

Remove the VMV.
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
