Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive
strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy.
2. Remove the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.

Disconnect the CMP electrical connector.

Remove the CMP sensor bolts.
3. Remove the CMP sensor.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION: Insure that the CMP sensor is properly positioned.
1. Install the CMP sensor.

Position the CMP sensor.

Install the CMP sensor bolts.
2. Connect the CMP electrical connector.
