Selector Shaft: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
WARNING: THE ELECTRICAL POWER SUPPLY TO THE AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM MUST BE SHUT OFF PRIOR TO
HOISTING, JACKING OR TOWING AN AIR SUSPENSION VEHICLE. THIS CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED BY TURNING OFF THE
AIR SUSPENSION SWITCH LOCATED IN THE REAR JACK STORAGE AREA. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN
UNEXPECTED INFLATION OR DEFLATION OF THE AIR SPRINGS WHICH MAY RESULT IN SHIFTING OF THE VEHICLE
DURING THESE OPERATIONS.
3. Remove the transmission fluid pan.
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the transmission fluid filter to perform this procedure.
4. Remove the digital transmission range (DTR) sensor.
5. Remove the manual valve inner lever nut.
CAUTION: Do not damage the valve inner lever pin.
6. Remove the manual valve inner lever and the parking lever actuating rod
7. Remove the manual control lever shaft spring pin.

Tap lightly on each side of the manual control lever shaft spring pin with a drift punch.

Pry the spring pin out of its bore.
CAUTION: D not damage the case fluid pan rail.
