Valve Body: Service and Repair
Disassembly

1. Remove the SS1 and the SS3 clamp and SS1 and SS3 solenoid.

(1) Remove the solenoid clamp bolt.
(2) Remove the solenoid clamp.
(3) Remove the SS1 and SS3 solenoids.

CAUTION:  SS3 solenoid may pop out of its bore. This may damage the solenoid.

2. Remove the SS2, SS4, torque converter clutch solenoid (TCC solenoid), and the EPC solenoid.

(1) Remove the solenoid clamp bolt.
(2) Remove the solenoid clamp.
(3) Remove the SS2, SS4, torque converter clutch solenoid and the EPC solenoids.

CAUTION:   

-

The torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid may pop out of its bore. This may damage the solenoid.

The convertor modulator valve may come out after the TCC solenoid. This may cause damage to the valve.

3. Rotate the main control valve body so that the main control to case gasket is facing up.

4. Remove the valve body separator plate screws.

(1) Remove the main control to case gasket and discard.
(2) Remove the valve body separator plate screws.

CAUTION:   

-

Valves may come out when rotating the main control.

The extension housing lube orifice and relief valves may stick to the separator plate.
