11. Use Dial Indicator With Bracketry to recheck the backlash.
NOTE: Specifications shown are preferred backlash.
12. Remove the bearing caps.
(1) Remove the bolts.
(2) Remove the bearing caps.
13. Use (A) Shim Driver to install shims.
NOTE: To establish differential bearing preload, increase both left and right shim sizes as shown. Make sure shims are fully seated and
differential turns freely.
14. Install the bearing caps and bolts.
(1) Install the bearing caps.
(2) Install the bolts.
