Explorer 2WD V6-245 4.0L SOHC VIN K SFI (2001)
1. Note: Lubricate the parts with Super Premium SAE 5W-30 Motor Oil XO-5W30-QSP or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G
before installing.
Install the camshaft.
2. Note: The camshaft bearing caps must be installed in the original position.
Note: After installing the bolts, check the camshaft for free rotation.
Position the oil supply tube, the camshaft bearing caps, and the bolts.

Tighten in the sequence shown in two stages.

Stage 1: Tighten to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).

Stage 2: Tighten to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).
3. The camshaft must be re-timed.
4. Install the camshaft roller followers.
