NOTE: 4.6L engine shown, 4.0L engine similar.
Removal
CAUTION: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of contaminants or premature failure of the power
steering components can result.
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Remove the steering line clamp plate nut.
3. Rotate the steering line clamp plate and disconnect the fluid cooler return line from the steering gear.

Discard the O-ring seal.
4. Remove the pressure line-to-crossmember retainer bracket bolt.
5. Disconnect the pressure line from the steering gear.
