Safety Recall 90SO8 - Explorer Sunroof

AFFECTED VEHICLES

Certain 1991 model 4 door Explorers built before
May 4, 1990 with the factory installed optional Tilt-Up Open Air Roof (sunroof).

REASONS FOR RECALL

The sunroof glass panel may not be securely attached
to the roof of the truck.

When the sunroof glass panel is re-installed after removal, the two front hinges may not be aligned and mated.
Improperly mated hinges may allow the glass panel to become detached from the roof when the truck is moving.

To correct this condition dealers will install new front hinge assemblies and modify the rear latch mechanism.
