ISSUE:
Unacceptable vehicle ride described as higher than normal bounce or pitch may be caused by excessive tire pressure or by the shock absorbers.
The condition is most noticeable during freeway driving.
ACTION:
Use the following procedure to determine if new shock absorbers are required. The new shock absorbers have new internal valving that
stiffens the shock absorber rebound action.
1.
Locate the vehicle certification label on the left hand "B" pillar.
2.
Note the recommended tire pressure listed on the vehicle certification label.
3.
Adjust the tire pressure to the values shown on the vehicle certification label.
4.
Road test the truck to see if the concern has been corrected.
5.
If the concern is still present, install four (4) new shock absorbers. Refer to the following parts application chart to select the proper shock
absorbers.
