ISSUE
When performing engine or fuel system repairs, damage could result if excessive force is applied to the composite fuel rail.
ACTION
Exercise due care when performing engine repairs on or around the fuel system. These guidelines must be followed:
1.
Do not lean on or place body weight on fuel rails.
2.
Do not leverage tools against composite fuel rails.
3.
Care must be used in the disassembly and reassembly of engines equipped with composite material fuel rail assemblies to assure proper function.
4.
Do not use fuel rails as "handles" to lift heavier engine pans such as cylinder heads or intake manifolds.
5.
Follow proper fastener torque specifications when assembling composite material fuel rails.
