18. Attach the restraint system diagnostic tool to the vehicle harness side of the passenger air bag module electrical connector.
Vehicles without side air curtains or safety canopies
19. CAUTION: Do not deactivate the side air curtain/safety canopy module circuit by removing the side air curtain/safety canopy bridge
resistor from the side air curtain/safety canopy electrical connector.
If the side air curtain/safety canopy bridge resistor is removed, an open circuit fault will be generated by the restraints control module (RCM).
If a restraint system diagnostic tool is installed at the side air curtain/safety canopy electrical connector, a low resistance fault will be generated by
the RCM.
Vehicles with side air curtains
NOTE: Once the weatherstrip is lowered, if retaining clips are present in the door jamb at the C-pillar pinch weld, the vehicle will be equipped with
side air curtains.
20. Lower the rear RH door opening weatherstrip.
21. Remove the RH side C-pillar trim panel clips.
