Using a paint stick or similar item, spread the adhesive to cover the entire area where the E-coat was ground off. See Figures 22 and 23.

Position the new outer panel onto the bed. Once positioned, do not pull the panel away from the bed. If repositioning is necessary, slide the panel.
This maintains the proper contact between the components and the adhesive.

NOTE: Clamps should have tape over the ends to insulate them during welding.
