Remove the fuel filler tube-to-pickup box clamp. See Figure 6.

Remove the rear axle vent tube from the bed crossmember.

Lower the hoist.

Remove the three (3) fuel filler neck screws. See Figure 7.

CAUTION: Remove the fuel fill door assembly. Otherwise, damage to the fuel fill tube and fuel door assembly can occur when the pickup box is
removed.
Remove the fuel door assembly as follows:

Press in the two (2) retaining tabs on top of the fuel door assembly.

Slide the fuel door assembly out of the pickup box.
15.
Remove the six (6) pickup box-to-frame bolts and discard.

CAUTION: To avoid damaging the fuel fill tube, guide the fuel fill tube out of the fuel door opening as the pickup bed is removed.
Remove the pickup box carefully, guiding the fuel fill tube out of the fuel door opening. Place the box on suitable, stable work stands.
