4. Remove the camshaft bearing cap bolts in the sequence shown.
5. NOTE: The camshaft bearing caps must be installed in their original locations. Record camshaft bearing cap locations.
Remove the front camshaft bearing cap and then the remaining bearing caps.
6. Clean and inspect the camshaft bearing caps.
7. CAUTION: Roller follower removal requires the engine to be rotated until each camshaft lobe is pointing upward and away from the valve stem.
Do not remove the camshaft phaser sprocket until all roller followers have been removed.
CAUTION: Only use hand tools to remove the camshaft phaser sprocket assembly or damage may occur to the camshaft or camshaft phaser unit.
CAUTION: Damage to the camshaft phaser sprocket assembly will occur if mishandled or used as a lifting or leveraging device.
CAUTION: Do not remove the timing chain wedge tool at any time during disassembly. If the special tool is removed or out of placement, the
engine front cover must be removed and the engine must be retimed.
Remove the bolt and separate the camshaft phaser sprocket assembly from the camshaft.

Discard the bolt and washer.
8. Remove the camshaft.
Item 6: Hydraulic Lash Adjuster Removal Note
1. NOTE: Mark each hydraulic lash adjuster to make sure it is returned to its original position.
