5. NOTE: If the brake drum will not come off, follow these steps.
Loosen the brake adjuster screw.

Disengage the brake shoe adjusting lever from the brake adjuster screw.

Use a brake adjustment tool to loosen the brake adjuster screw.
6. Use a brake drum micrometer to measure the brake drum inside diameter. Install a new brake drum if it exceeds maximum inside diameter.
Installation
WARNING: Incorrectly tightened wheel nuts could allow the wheel to come off while the vehicle is in motion, causing loss of control.
1. If adjusting the rear brakes with brake drums removed, refer to Brake Shoe Adjustment.
2. Install the brake drum.
3. If adjusting the rear brakes with the brake drums installed, refer to Brake Shoe Adjustment.
4. WARNING: Always remove any corrosion, dirt or foreign material present on the mounting surfaces of the wheel or the surface of the wheel
hub or brake drum that contacts the wheel. Installing wheels without correct metal to metal contact at the wheel mounting surfaces can cause the
wheel nuts to loosen and could allow the wheel to come off while the vehicle is in motion, causing loss of control.
Clean the wheel hub mounting surface.
5. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
6. Lower the vehicle.
