BECAUSE EXCESSIVE LUBE OIL CONSUMPTION CAN OCCUR DUE TO INTERFERENCE OF THE OIL SHIELD WITH THE
RUBBER VALVE STEM SEAL.

6.9L EXHAUST VALVE OIL SHIELDS

The large "Deep Skirt" exhaust valve oil shield is used in place of the prior (small) oil shield, refer to Figure 3. The new cylinder head gasket package
contains eight large exhaust valve stem oil shields. When servicing 6.9L cylinder heads, throw away all the small intake and exhaust valve oil shields.
