FORD:
2003-2005 F-Super Duty
ISSUE
Some 2003-2005 Super Duty F-Series equipped with a 6.0L diesel engine and a single generator, may exhibit low battery voltage when plowing for an
extended period, and while using a salt spreader and/or other lighting accessories added on by the customer.
ACTION
If the charging system only exhibits the condition with all of the aftermarket accessories in use, there is a 140 AMP service generator available for
customer purchase. This is the same generator used in the factory installed snow plow package.
NOTE
THIS REPAIR MAY NOT BE 100% EFFECTIVE ON
ALL VEHICLES FOR VARIOUS REASONS.
EXAMPLES: AS SNOW PLOW, SANDER/SALTER AND OTHER EQUIPMENT AGE, THEIR ELECTRICAL LOAD DEMAND MAY
INCREASE. ALSO, THE TYPE OF PLOWING (SHORT DISTANCE PLOWING) MAY IMPACT THE ABILITY OF THE CHARGING SYSTEM
TO COMPENSATE FOR THE DRAW.
