Backing Plate: Service and Repair

REMOVAL:

-

Remove the axle shaft; refer to Transmission and Drivetrain section.

-

Remove the rear wheel cylinder; refer to Wheel Cylinder service and repair.

Parking Brake Cable And Conduit

-

Remove the parking brake rear cable and conduit.

Disconnect the parking brake rear cable and conduit from the parking brake lever.

Compress the retainers.

Remove the parking brake rear cable and conduit.       

Brake Backing Plate Nuts And Bolts

-

Remove the brake backing plate bolts and nuts.

-

Remove the brake backing plate.

INSTALLATION:

Install the brake backing plate.

Position the brake backing plate.

Install the brake backing plate bolts and nuts.
