F 250 4WD LD Pickup V8-5.4L SOHC VIN L (1997)
12. Disconnect the LH Coil On Plug (COP) electrical connections.
13. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.
14. Lift the wiring harness off of the cam cover studs.
15. Position the wiring harness aside.
16. Loosen the cam cover bolts and remove the cam cover.

Remove and inspect the cam cover gasket and clean the mating surface.
CAUTION: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean the sealing surfaces. These tools
cause scratches and gouges which make leak paths. Use a plastic scraping tool to remove all traces of old sealant.
NOTE: Cam cover bolts are part of the cam cover and cannot be removed.
