PARTS REQUIREMENTS
Initial supply of revised finish lug nuts (permanent corrective action) is limited. Dealers are requested to tighten current lug nuts per the attached
procedure in the interim.
Parts will be available in the third (3rd) quarter of 1998.
EXCESS STOCK RETURN
Excess stock returned for credit must have been purchased from Ford Customer Service Division in accordance with Policy Procedure Bulletin 4000.

TWO-PIECE LUG NUT REPLACEMENT
INTERIM SERVICE ACTION - LUG NUTS
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Remove center cap (hubcap) from each wheel.
2.
Tighten each lug nut in sequence shown in figure 1 to verify that the nut is at 100 lb-ft. A torque wrench should be used to ensure proper torque.
3.
Tighten each lug nut again in sequence, an additional 1/8 to 1/4 turn.
4.
Install center cap (hubcap) on each wheel.
