Differential Axle Housing: Service and Repair
Disassembly
1.Remove the front drive axle assembly, please refer to Transmission and Drivetrain/Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Service and
Repair/Procedures/Front/ See: Removal & Installation
2. Remove the differential cover.
(1) Remove the drain plug.
(2) Drain the differential fluid.
(3) Remove the bolts.
(4) Remove the differential cover.
3. Install the front drive axle assembly in the Bench Mounted Holding Fixture.
CAUTION: Fixture mounting bolts (A) must have a minimum thread engagement in carrier.
4. Unseat the clutch shaft rod boot.
