Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
WARNING: THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS SYSTEM CONTAINS FUEL VAPOR AND CONDENSED FUEL VAPOR. ALTHOUGH
NOT PRESENT IN LARGE QUANTITIES, IT STILL PRESENTS THE DANGER OF EXPLOSION OR FIRE. DISCONNECT THE
BATTERY GROUND CABLE FROM THE BATTERY TO MINIMIZE THE POSSIBILITY OF AN ELECTRICAL SPARK OCCURRING,
POSSIBLY CAUSING A FIRE OR EXPLOSION IF FUEL VAPOR OR LIQUID FUEL ARE PRESENT IN THE AREA.
1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the Evaporative Emission canister purge valve (EVAP canister purge valve) and the evaporative
emissions vacuum control hose.
2. Disconnect the two fuel vapor tubes.
1. Disconnect the evaporative emission tube.
2. Disconnect the evaporative emission return tube.
3. Remove the evaporative emission canister purge valve.
1. Remove the bolts.
2. Perform the Evaporative Emission Running Loss Monitor Repair Verification Drive Cycle Test.
Remove the evaporative emission canister purge valve.
