EGR Control Solenoid: Service and Repair
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module
relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect vacuum hoses.
3. Disconnect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) vacuum regulator solenoid electrical connector.
4. Remove nuts and slide the solenoid off the mounting bracket.
5. To install, follow removal procedure in reverse order.
