Using an air chisel, remove the rivets from the bracket. See Figure 7.

Install the new fuel tank bracket. Make sure the locator tang is in the hole. Tighten the bolts to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft). See Figure 8.
12.
Raise the fuel tank into its original position. Tighten the strap bolts to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

Remove the jack stand.
14.
Install the fuel filler tube.
15.
Lower the vehicle.
CAUTION
Tighten the fuel filler neck retaining screws before tightening the fuel filler tube retaining hose clamp. Tightening of the hose clamp before the
screws may cause the side of the pickup box to buckle by the fuel door.
16.
Install the fuel filler neck retaining screws before tightening the fuel filter tube retaining hose clamp. Tighten the screws to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
17.
Tighten the fuel filler tube retaining hose clamp to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
18.
Position the fuel filler tube hose clamp and fuel filler vent tube hose clamp and tighten clamps to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
