Exhaust Back Pressure Control Valve: Service and Repair

SPECIAL SERVICE TOOLS
REMOVAL
1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the charge air cooler inlet and outlet ducts from the compressor manifold.
3. Disconnect the exhaust outlet pipe from the turbocharger.

Loosen the clamp.

Pull the exhaust pipe away from the exhaust back pressure valve.
4. Disconnect the exhaust back pressure valve.

Slide the retaining clip toward the turbocharger housing.

Disconnect the exhaust back pressure valve actuator rod from the exhaust back pressure valve.
