Fuel Pressure Regulator: Description and Operation

PURPOSE

The purpose of the fuel pressure regulator is to maintain pressure in the cylinder head fuel galleries at 275 kPa (40 psi).

OPERATION

A spring loaded spool in the fuel pressure regulator opens to allow excess fuel to exit the galleries. This excess fuel is routed through the strainer,
and back to the high pressure side of the transfer pump.
