Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

CAUTION:  Always disconnect the battery ground cable prior to working on the electronic engine controls.

2. Remove the Idle Air Control valve (IAC) valve.

Disconnect the electrical connector

Disconnect the throttle bypass hose.

Remove the screws and washer assembly.

Remove the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve.

5

Remove and discard the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve gasket.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the Idle Air Control Valve (IAC) valve.

Position the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve and gasket.

2

Install the screws and washer assembly in two stages:
-

8-10 Nm (71-89 Lb/in)

-

Tighten them an additional 85-95 degrees.

NOTE:  A new Idle Air Control (IAC) valve gasket must be installed.

2. Connect the throttle bypass hose and the Idle Air Control (IAC) electrical connector.
3. Install the accelerator control splash shield.
