Radiator: Service and Repair

Removal 

CAUTION:  Do not mix Standard (green) Coolant with Extended Life Coolant (orange). If this contamination occurs the service change
interval on Extended Life Coolant will be reduced from 6 year/150,000 miles to 3 years/30,000 miles. 

NOTE:  On 7.3L diesel equipped vehicle with the manual transmission, remove oil cooler tubes from the radiator.

1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Remove the degas bottle.
3. Raise the vehicle.

4. Remove the lower radiator hose from the radiator.
5. Lower the vehicle.

6. Remove the upper hose from the radiator.

7. Remove the two pushpins and position the radiator sight shield out of the way.
