F 450 2WD Super Duty V10-6.8L VIN V (2005)
Steering Damper: Service and Repair
Damper - F-250, F-350 4X2
Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. CAUTION: Do not loosen or remove the damper bracket U-bolt nuts. The alignment of the damper bracket is critical to avoid interference,
binding, or over-extension of the damper.
Remove the 2 damper nuts.
3. Remove the 2 damper-to-bracket bolts and the damper.
4. NOTE: When repairing the linkage clean the damper shaft of all corrosion and dirt. Buff the damper shaft smooth. Repairing the linkage changes
the damper travel slightly. A dirty/corroded shaft can damage the damper seal and create a leak.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
