Parking Pawl: Service and Repair

Park System 

Special Tool(s)

Removal 
All vehicles 
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

4x4 vehicles 
2. Remove the transfer case. 

4x2 vehicles 
3. Remove the rear driveshaft. 

Vehicles equipped with a fixed yoke 

4. Remove the output shaft flange.

Remove and discard the output shaft flange bolt.

Remove the output shaft flange.

All vehicles 
5. Using a suitable transmission Jack, support the transmission.

6. Remove the bolts, and raise the transmission upward, from the rear mount.
