Drive/Propeller Shaft: Service and Repair
Front

Removal 

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Index mark the front driveshaft to the front axle flange and at the transfer case flange.

3. WARNING:  Replace with new bolts and retainers after the third removal. 

Disconnect the front driveshaft from the front axle.

Mark and remove the driveshaft to front axle bolts.

Remove the U-joint retainers.

4. WARNING:  Replace with new bolts after the third removal. 

Mark and remove the four front driveshaft to transfer case bolts.
