4. Position the skid plate and install the bolts (4x4 only).
All vehicles
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Install the upper bolts by inserting a long extension and socket through the front grille and bumper.
7. CAUTION: Do not use any fluid approved for MERCON V application. Using a fluid rated for MERCON V may cause internal damage in
MERCON only applications.
Fill the transmission with the specified type and quantity of transmission fluid.

Use Motorcraft MERCON V Multi-Purpose (ATF) Transmission Fluid XT-5-QM or equivalent meeting MERCON V specifications.
8. Check for leaks.
