Removal and Installation
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery.
2. Release the tension on the parking brake system.
3. Disconnect the parking brake switch electrical connector.
4. Disconnect the parking brake release handle cable from the parking brake control.
5. Remove the 3 parking brake control retaining nuts and position the parking brake control aside.

To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
6. Disconnect the hood release cable from the parking brake control.
7. Position the parking brake cable and conduit grommet through the floor pan and remove the parking brake control.
