Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor
CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) SENSOR
Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor
The CKP sensor is a variable reluctance sensor which responds to a rotating actuator positioned on the crankshaft. The actuator is a 60-2 tooth steel disk
with 58 evenly spaced teeth and a minus 2 tooth slot. The sensor produces a sine wave for each tooth edge of the actuator. The sensor output is required
to determine crankshaft speed, position, and acceleration.
