ISSUE:
The ignition timing specifications for the 1.3L EFI engine shown in the 1988-1989 Festiva Shop Manual are incorrect. The ignition timing
specifications for the 1.3L Carbureted engine have been revised.
ACTION:
Refer to the pages following this TSB article for the revised information which has been incorporated into the Shop Manual procedures,
specifications, and illustrations. This information should be inserted in your 1988-1989 Festiva Shop Manuals, pages 21-05-6, 23-02-5,
23-02-21, and 55-07-9.

4.
Adjust the following valve clearances: Number 1 and 2 intake, and number 1 and 3 exhaust.

Intake: 0.30 mm (0.012 in.)

Exhaust: 0.30 mm (0.012 in.)
5.
Turn the crankshaft one full turn so that the piston of the No. 4 cylinder is at TDC on compression, and adjust the clearances of the remaining
valves.
