Fuel Charging and Controls - 1.25L/1.4L Zetec-SE (Sigma)/1.6L - Fuel Charging Wiring Harness—1.6L Fiesta 1996 (08/1995-02/2002)
Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.

  1. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose.

  1. Disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connector.

  1. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector.

  1. Detach the fuel charging wiring harness.

  1. Detach the fuel lines.

  1. Disconnect the cylinder head temperature (CHT) sensor electrical connector.

  1. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.

  1. Disconnect the fuel charging wiring harness electrical connector.

  1. Release the fuel charging wiring harness by rotating the clip counterclockwise.

  1. Disconnect the four fuel injector electrical connectors.
  1. Remove the fuel charging wiring harness.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. It may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn its adaptive strategy.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
