1. Detach the coolant expansion tank from the wheelhouse assembly and position it to one side.
   1. Remove the retaining bolt.
   2. Release the retaining clip.

2. Remove the timing belt upper cover retaining bolts.

3. Detach the power steering line from the power steering pump mounting bracket.

4. Detach the power steering line bracket from the cylinder head.

5. Remove the accessory drive belt.

6. Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir return hose quick release coupling, from either the power steering fluid cooler or the power steering reservoir return hose.
   1. Press the power steering fluid reservoir return hose quick release coupling locking tangs.
   2. Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir return hose quick release coupling.
   • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

7. Using the special tool, disconnect the power steering fluid supply hose from the power steering pump.
   • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

8. 

   CAUTION:Do not disconnect the power steering pump pressure adapter from the power steering pump.
   Using the special tool, disconnect the power steering line from the power steering pump pressure adapter.
   • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.
   • Discard the O-ring seal.

9. Remove the power steering pump.
   • Push the timing belt cover to one side to get access to the power steering pump retaining bolts.

   NOTE:This step is only necessary when installing a new power steering pump delievered without pulley.
   Using the special tool, install a new power steering pump pulley.

2. 

   NOTE:If installing a new power steering pump, the power steeing line union supplied with the new pump should be removed and retained for further use.
   Using the special tool, install a new O-ring seal onto the power steering line to power steering pump union.
   1. Push the O-ring seal onto the special tool.
   2. Locate the special tool onto the union and install the O-ring seal.

3. 

   NOTE:Make sure the collar on the hose is inserted fully into the quick release coupling.
   To install, reverse the removal procedure.

4. Fill and bleed the power steering system.
