Removal and Installation
NOTE: The door glass must be completely raised.
1. Remove the rear door trim panel.
2. Remove the exterior door handle. For additional information, refer to Exterior Door Handle See: Front Door/Front Door Handle/Front Door

3. Position the water shield aside.
4. Disconnect the rear door latch actuator electrical connector.
5. Remove the door lock rod extension from the door lock rod.
6. Push the door lock rod and grommet through the door panel.
7. Push the interior door handle cable and grommet through the door panel, and pull them back out through the door panel access hole.
8. Loosen the exterior door handle reinforcement bolt.

To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
9. Slide the exterior front door handle reinforcement to the front of the vehicle and push it inside the door.
10. Remove the 3 rear door latch bolts.

To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
11. Remove the complete latch, carrier, and handle reinforcement assembly from the door.
12. Open the clip and disconnect the exterior rear door handle actuating rod.
13. Unclip and remove the exterior door handle reinforcement from the carrier.
14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
