ISSUE
Some 2009 Flex vehicles built before 9/22/2008
may have door locks that exhibit a bounce or cycle
between unlock and lock. This usually occurs when
attempting to unlock the doors using the remote
keyless entry (RKE) transmitter or door lock
control switch, the suspect door lock returns to
the locked position.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the
condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Identify the suspect door lock and verify the
grommet location on its lock rod.
1.
Remove door trim panel from the affected door. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-05.
2.
Adjust the lock rod grommet so it's properly positioned approximately 1/4" (6 mm) away from the vertical portion of the rod for front doors, or
approximately 3/4" (19 mm) away for the rear new doors (Figure 1 Dimension X).
3.
Verify proper function of power lock after repair.
