Shift Cable: Service and Repair
External Controls MT285 Transaxle

Gearshift Cables 

Removal 

1. Remove the air cleaner. 

2. Detach the gearshift cables from the transaxle.

Detach the gearshift cable (colored white) and the selector cable (colored black) from the shift lever and the selector lever.

Turn the abutment sleeves clockwise and detach the cables from the bracket.

3. Shift the gearshift mechanism to the neutral position.

4. Remove the gearshift lever knob and boot.
5. Remove the floor console.
