Remove the accessory drive belt. Remove the radiator splash shield. | | | -
Remove the right-hand front fender splash shield. | Vehicles with power steering fluid cooler | | -
CAUTION:Cap the power steering fluid cooler to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress. CAUTION:Cap the power steering fluid cooler hose to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress. Using the special tool, disconnect the fluid cooler hose from the power steering fluid cooler. - Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

CAUTION:Cap the power steering fluid return line to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress. CAUTION:Cap the power steering fluid reservoir to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress. Disconnect the power steering fluid return line from the power steering fluid reservoir. - Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

CAUTION:Cap the power steering fluid supply hose to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress. CAUTION:Cap the power steering pump connection to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress. Disconnect the power steering fluid supply hose from the power steering pump. - Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

NOTE:Note the position of the power steering fluid lines support bracket to aid installation. Detach the power steering fluid lines bracket from the vehicle body. | | | -
Detach the power steering pump to steering gear pressure line from the support bracket. - Release the retaining clip.
- Open the support bracket.

Detach the power steering fluid lines support bracket from the steering gear. | | | -
Detach the power steering pump to steering gear pressure line from the support bracket. - Release the retaining clip.
- Open the support bracket.

CAUTION:Cap the power steering lines to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress. CAUTION:Cap the steering gear valve body to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress. Disconnect the power steering lines from the steering gear valve body. - Remove the retaining bolt.
- Rotate the clamp plate.
- Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

Remove the power steering pump lower retaining bolts. | | | -
Remove the Generator.

| 15. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration(s) and table(s). 1 - Power steering pressure (PSP) switch electrical connector 2 - Power steering pump upper retaining bolts 16. To install, reverse the removal procedure. | | -
Fill and bleed the power steering system.

CAUTION:Make sure vice jaw protectors are used. Secure the power steering pump in a vice. | | | -
Remove the power steering pump to steering gear pressure line and the PSP switch. | Installation Details Item 3 : Power steering pump | | -
CAUTION:Care must be taken to prevent dirt ingress. Using the special tool, install a new Teflon seal onto the power steering line to power steering pump union. - Push the new Teflon seal onto the special tool.
- Locate the special tool onto the union and install the Teflon seal.

CAUTION:Make sure vice jaw protectors are used. Secure the power steering pump in a vice. | | | -
Install the power steering pump to steering gear pressure line and the PSP switch. | | | -
Remove the power steering pump from the vice. | | | -
Install new O-ring seals onto the power steering lines. | |
