Remove the right-hand front wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to: Wheel and Tire (204-04 Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation).
Remove the right-hand front splash shield.
Remove the engine undershield.
Rotate the locking tangs counterclockwise.
Using a suitable knife, cut the A/C compressor belt and remove.
Installation
NOTE:Install a new A/C compressor belt.
Wipe clean both of the pulleys to make sure that the A/C compressor belt does not slip during installation.
Install the installation tool (supplied in the parts kit) to the crankshaft pulley at the 9 o'clock position (A/C compressor cover shown removed for clarity).
Install the A/C compressor belt (A/C compressor cover shown removed for clarity).
Install the belt around the A/C compressor pulley.
Install the belt around the installation tool.
Install the belt guide tool (supplied in the parts kit) to the A/C compressor belt (engine shown removed for clarity).
The curved end of the tool fits around the belt and the flat end of the tool fits between the A/C compressor and the oil pan.
Make sure that the A/C compressor belt is correctly positioned in the grooves of the A/C compressor pulley.
NOTE:Only turn the engine in the normal direction of rotation.
NOTE:Guide the A/C compressor belt onto the pulleys as the engine is rotated.
Turn the engine until the installation tool is at the 6 o'clock position (A/C compressor cover shown removed for clarity).
Remove the installation tool.
NOTE:Only turn the engine in the normal direction of rotation.
Turn the engine through 360 degrees.
Check that the A/C compressor belt is correctly positioned in the grooves of the pulleys.
Repeat the installation procedure if the A/C compressor belt is misaligned.
Discard the installation tool if the A/C compressor belt is fitted correctly.
Remove the belt guide tool from the A/C compressor belt.
Discard the belt guide tool.
Install the engine undershield.
Rotate the locking tangs clockwise.
Install the right-hand front splash shield.
