Removal and Installation Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) | -
NOTE:Make sure that the windshield wiper motor is in the park position. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures). | | -
Remove the engine upper cover. | | -
Remove the windshield wiper arms. | | -
Remove the cowl panel. - Detach the cowl panel from the retaining clips.
- Remove the cowl panel by detaching it from the windshield glass lower weatherstrip.

Remove the bulkhead extension panel. - Remove the bulkhead extension panel retaining screws.
- Detach the bulkhead extension panel from the retaining clips.
| 6. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration(s) and table(s). 1 - Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve electrical connector 7. To install, reverse the removal procedure. | -

Make a note of the position of the EGR valve tube retaining clamp before removal. | Installation Details Item 3 : EGR valve retaining bolts | -
NOTE:Do not tighten the EGR valve retaining bolts at this stage. Install the EGR valve retaining bolts. | Item 2 : EGR valve tube retaining clamp | -
NOTE:A new EGR valve tube retaining clamp must be installed in the same position as removed. Install a new EGR valve tube retaining clamp. | | -
Tighten the EGR valve retaining bolts. | |
